Hooves and the Farrier

No foot, no horse. This project explores hoof anatomy — wall, sole, frog, white line — the shod versus barefoot debate, what a farrier actually does with each tool, trimming cycles, and how to spot thrush or a loose shoe. Your child will draw a labelled hoof diagram and budget a year of farriery.
